Kool Smiles Announces Plan to Hire Over 1,500 in the Next 12 Months - According to the Wall Street Journal, (02December2011), "Kool Smiles has seen an increase in patients through referrals and has added several offices this year to help provide more dental care to underserved communities in Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas. S.C. BlueCross, Palmetto Primary Care Physicians improve diabetes care - According to the Charleston Regional Business Journal, (01December2011), "More than 800 diabetes patients are experiencing better health because of a a two-year study examining a centralized program called a patient-centered medical home. MUSC lands $10.5 million intercollege grant - According to the Charleston Regional Business Journal, (30November2011), "The Medical University of South Carolina's College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy has been awarded a $10.5 million research grant from the National Institutes of Health to fund a biomedical research center."
